Client Problem
For years, our U.S. Government client struggled with finding a simplified way to communicate its fairly complicated business model, also known as a trust fund. Very few personnel – outside of senior management – had a keen understanding of how the trust fund operated. It was critical that both internal employees and external agency partners and customers understood the origins of the funds, how the trust fund operated, and the purposes for which the funds were used. Senior management believed a better understanding of the trust fund would build stronger relationships with external agency partners and customers and create a deeper awareness of how the agency conducted business.
Having produced a variety of communication pieces in the past, Wedgewood Group was asked to produce an infographic to make the trust fund easy to understand and communicate.
Our Solution
Wedgewood Group, in partnership with our client, provided graphic design and art direction services to design an infographic that simply communicated what was perceived to be a difficult process. Our strategic marketing team pinpointed the exact message to convey and the barriers that existed. Realizing the infographic was going to be communicated by a wide variety of individuals in a variety of mediums and formats, Wedgewood Group made sure it was easily scalable: for some, the information may simply be viewed around the office on a wall or cubicle, but for others, it may be used in a PowerPoint presentation or even as a training tool for directing other personnel.
Outcome
Wedgewood Group produced a high resolution graphic – centering on a “circle of trust” concept. Understanding of the trust fund among less involved personnel has risen dramatically since the production of the graphic and individuals now benefit from having a much clearer perspective on how the fund works at a glance. Senior management uses the infographic for both formal and informal discussions to train audiences on the operation of the trust fund.
Client Testimonial
“We needed something that could graphically depict our business model. The result is more than we expected – it is a piece of art that functions as a tremendous teaching tool.”
