The Challenge
The client has a wide and diverse workforce spread throughout the world and across multiple departments of a major federal government organization. They have various wants and needs for career development and education goals and the organization's departments were in varying stages of system development to track personnel progress. The organization wanted to centralize its personnel tracking system for easier oversight and improved consistency and to help individual departments with system management. They also hoped for a system that would provide opportunity for future expansion as their functionality requirements grew or changed.

The Solution
Wedgewood developed a scalable, database-driven personnel management website to educate the client's workforce about learning and certification opportunities available to them and to allow them to apply for and track their certification and other educational goals. Wedgewood implemented a phased development plan that divided the client's system requirements into multiple phases to allow for the addition of capabilities as the project progressed.

The Result
The site has proven to be a great solution for this client, its administrators, and its users. It can adapt as their needs change and new features can be added easily. The chief administrators can oversee all of the department activities to insure consistency, quality, and progress. Department administrators are able to better manage certification applications. Since its launch, thousands use the site to manage their certification and education records.
