Wedgewood's DC Team spends a day volunteering at the American Horticultural Society

WASHINGTON, DC—Wedgewood Consulting Group, a leader in workforce development solutions, launched its community support initiative in the Washington, DC area by spending a day restoring the children’s garden at the American Horticultural Society (AHS) in Alexandria, VA.

Non-profit organizations are a crucial part of our society. In light of recent economic challenges, AHS and similar non-profits find themselves stretching their manpower and financial resources more so than ever in order to achieve their mission. Wedgewood will partner with local non-profits to assist them with individual or on-going projects to help them continue achieving their most important goals to provide indispensable services to our communities.

On August 19, 2008, the Wedgewood DC team spent the day helping AHS restore their children's garden made up of 14 individual gardens on the beautiful River Farm grounds set on one of George Washington's original five farms. The DC team was in charge of removing invasive plants, weeding and pruning, trimming, cleaning, and other gardening efforts that resulted in a more beautiful and inviting children’s garden.

Wedgewood plans to continue our volunteering efforts by participating in the Fairfax County, VA Volunteer Fest on October 23rd, 2008 at the Goodwin House in Falls Church, VA and other similar projects in the local area.

"At Wedgewood we believe that giving back to our community is not only important, but necessary!" said Ms. Jamie P. Leddin, Principal, Wedgewood Consulting Group, Inc. "We take pride in our passion and dedication for delivering excellent results not only to our clients, but also to the non-profit organizations that work hard to safeguard the important programs that make our communities a prosperous place to live."
